Istanbul Mosque at Night by jyokota

Istanbul Mosque at Night

I was walking back to the hotel past a mosque when I peeked into the cemetery through a fence. This image caught my attention and reminded me of our week's challenge theme on light and shade. It was nearly a black and white image as captured, but I cleaned it up a little by removing the slightly brown cast so it reads more purely as a b&w.
Striking image.

Lovely job. Very strong shadows and harsh light make for an interesting picture here.

Aaaaaah! I deleted the first one to straighten it, reposted it, and lost comments. Apologies to any comments that were lost -- I had a nice one on my computer from "roadshow" saved so I'll repost it:

Very brooding. I love the broad, horizontal shadow lines hitting the mosque. I wonder what caused those?
