There was some kind of museum celebration weekend in the museum district, with streets closed off, beer and sausages, sidewalk chalk art, all kinds of temporary "art" on exhibit, and . . . . EINTRITT FREI (free admission) to all museums! You can imagine that I made the most of the day, hopping from the Reading Andy Warhol exhibit of his works related to books and reading, Ed Ruscha's exhibit on books, and even to an exhibit not on books, but on Morroccan Tapestries. The surprising stop of the day? The new Egyptian Museum! Breathtaking, beautiful, extensive . . . where have they been storing all this for years???
Oh, I'm breathless and jealous at the same time. Fav. What a wonderful catch. Dare I call it abstract when I don't know what abstract photography is? :)
Great POV for this shot. I love the way you've captured the details of the lines and the texture. And it was great to be able to see the full building so thanks for that link. Makes a terrific abstract.
What a neat building and a great artistic angle on it. That day of free museums sounds great. We have an upcoming day where Smithsonian members get one free entry into one local museum (many museums nationwide participating), but not allllll of them.
