We got up early to try to catch one last sunrise before heading to the airport, but the sun only gave us a moment of color before quickly becoming clouded over. No strong color, but softly rising colors. This crop heightened emphasis on the gently rolling dunes, taken on a 400mm zoom from the side of the road. Trying very hard to use only LR, but it's like processing with your hands and brains tied up and knowing what you want to achieve, but not having the tools to do so yet. Now that I see it posted on 365, I wish I had lightened up the vignetting a bit.
Oh, a small thing... this processing. You were there and caught the image. That is the point. Such undulating curves and lines. The monotone color is lovely and serene.
Have you looked at any of the Anthony Morganti tutorials on You tube. He made LR so easy for me to use. I am still working through his stuff. The sands remind me of vanilla whip. Maybe it's time for breakfast.
Just came from Taffy's page to see what you photographed. They are so different. I love this one. Looks like sand from the beach in color and layers. You did a great job on this one. FAV
Ken's been after me to travel to Death Valley with him, and seeing your photos an d Taffy's, I think I may have been wasting time not hitting the road immediately! This is gorgeous!
Love the soft coloured mounds that look like soft ice cream..............great the processing. I'm trying to learn LR as well, it is so different than PS!

@joansmor Joan thanks for the recommendation to Junko about checking out Anthony Morganti's LR tutorials on U-tube, I watched his first one video and I learned so much, looking forward to viewing the rest of his videos.
I've just started using LR this month and finding it complicated and yet so many people say they enjoy using it...........I'm not there yet!
@radiogirl Once I watched a few of his I got more comfortable. He has a way to develop landscapes that I wrote down and created a preset so I would have a starting point. My HDR affect ones are from his videos.
@joansmor@radiogirl -- are you kidding for apologizing? I'm grateful for any and all tips, and when they are on my photo, it's easier to return to it again later! So THANKS!!
