I am in Bologna, Italy for a week every year for the largest international children's bookfair. But when the work day is over, we walk about the city . . . among markets famous for Bologna cured meats and cheeses.
Wonderful image! So much to choose from! You must spend so much of your time travelling! I don't know how you remember which country you are in! Lol! Fav!
A wonderful picture! I'd love to hear about your experiences at the book fair. I read about it in Publishers Weekly but never knew anyone who actually attended!
@allie912 -- It's an amazing experience: imagine 4 large exhibit halls filled with children's books from around the world! This was my 12th year to attend Bologna Book Fair, and I'm involved in several aspects -- in fact, the organizer laughed and said that I'm the only person who's ever spoken at each of the cafes (speaking stages): Author, Illustrator, Digital, Translator. You might remember that I broke my arm there last year! I hope you get to go some day.
@allie912 -- I only speak Japanese and English but I can order from menus in many languages :) I know a handful of words and phrases in many languages and I choose words/phrases that are intriguing for their sound or meaning. How about you?
@allie912 -- that 's like my high school Spanish, and I'm in Spain right now. You should have seen me buying paella supplies at the grocery store, and having to pantomime asking for beans that come in vacuum sealed bags. I managed to get them to understand this and they vacuum sealed my bag for me! Ordering at a tapas bar is a challenge because just when you figure out what to order, it arrives, you consume the few bites, and then you have to read the menu again! and again!
Oh, definitely I would LOVE to go there sometime. I'm glad you're posting some of your shots from there, giving me a feel of the place. I'll post the duck pond...saved some images from there (the one across the street) before giving up my computer to Apple today.
