Snacking Squirrel by jyokota

Snacking Squirrel

Despite all the signage saying don't feed the wildlife . .. somebody did. Of course, what's a photographer to do when there's a cute squirrel (not quite like the chipmunks or squirrels in my backyard) snacking on an almond? We took dozens upon dozens of photos, but I like this one because you can see the little tongue inside its mouth.

I have never seen a squirrel with stripes. Very distinctive.

How cute is he! I never realised a squirrel looked so much like a chipmunk. I have a shot of what I thought was a chipmunk taken when I was in the Canadian Rockies - I must have another look at him. He was the only wildlife I saw and I was so disappointed- a grizzly he was not! Lol!

You have chipmunks in your garden??? I wish I lived nearer to you! I have never seen one for real. When we came to the US 4 years ago this time of year, it was cold and they were all hibernating. I hunted everywhere and never saw one! Aye me......but this fellow is very cute and I love his little pink tongue
