Another stop on the Chicago Open House, this one at the Seventeenth Church of Christ Scientists, in downtown Chicago. It's a building I had walked past many, many times as it is on a very busy street next to the river. The entire sanctuary is circular, and the shape of the lines around the very straight organ pipes also echoed that circular feel.
Actually the organ is so strong, so elegant, the round room has to enhance it’s design. The acoustics have to be fantastic, as well. Kudos to the architect who designed the building.
@louannwarren My understanding is that the pipe organ is also design specifically for the room that it is going into. Would like to be there for a performance.
