Milky Way Over the Quiver Trees

Something isn't quite right -- any suggestions? Maybe I'm not used to seeing SO many stars? I actually "hazed" the sky background a bit to reduce the abundance of stars glittering at me.
What an absolutely marvellous image!

A fantastic shot. Do you mean it is the wrong way round? I believe you are in the southern hemisphere at the moment fav

Reduce the stars?? I have never seen this many in the sky ever! I adore looking at space and the stars and I love this image. Live in a place that has way too much light pollution to ever see them. One day....

Yep -- what happens when you are in a totally dark sky! This is fabulous! You could up the whites within the milky way, but not sure what that might do to the rest of the sky. Would have to be subtle.

oh, yes. this is what you see when there are no ambient lights coming from anywhere. i've seen it in Palawan in 2014 -- we were in a very remote village where electricity is scarce and the roads going back to town were in total darkness. when we were in an open field, i happened to get my head out of the vehicle, and i was in awe looking at the black velvet sky and the whole expanse was just filled with stars. it was so beautiful i almost wanted to cry. the sky was just shimmering with billions of stars. i asked the driver to stop but our tour guide didn't like the idea of stopping due to snakes that were rife in the area. so, no, nothing's wrong with the picture. this is fabulous and thanks for posting this. big ACES to you, my friend.

Absolutely stupendous! I saw the sky something like this in the outback of Australia 18 years ago and it’s never left me! Thank you for this photo!
