Did you need to get an adapter for your Canon DSLR? (I have the same camera as yours, just the version here is called Canon Rebel) or did you just screw on the lens and use as normal? (manual focus, of course)

@blueberry1222 i have an m42 to eos converter ring, they are pretty inexpensive on ebay. I only paid $10 for this lens, score!!

great shot, very fun focal length!
December 29th, 2015
@isaactrippet sure is, embracing the 'bit funny' lens quirks.
December 29th, 2015
@kali66 vintage lenses can be quite fun, I've been using one (that minolta 50mm 1.2) almost exclusively lately
December 29th, 2015
@isaactrippett i have another couple of 50mm that are a bit faulty but still work if i set them in one position. , I gave my son the takumar 1.7 lens i bought recently, didnt have much time to give it a run myself but he wants to start out with it rather than the boring kit lenses, cant wait to see what he does with it :)
December 29th, 2015
@isaactrippet and I am seriously loving the look you are getting, especially for the portraits, makes so much difference having a nicely blurred background.
December 29th, 2015
a lovely scene! well captured!
December 29th, 2015
Beautiful Kali!
December 29th, 2015
@kali66 50 on full frame is equivalent to 35 on a crop sensor, and I love the look of it, it's very similar to the human eye. thank you so much, I hope you have a blast with this lens!
December 29th, 2015
thanx for all the info. I need to start playing with other lenses that are out there. You are an inspiration :) !!!
December 29th, 2015
Love this photo and reading your conversation with @blueberry1222 you've both got me very interested in vintage lenses. Might need to do some hunting around on ebay
