I got myself a cheapy 28mm lens , at f2.8 it lets in a lot more light than the kit lens i was using previously, so had lots of fun last night catching stars. i didnt realise it was fogging up on me but i quite like the flarey result on Sirius there.

Fascinating and fun. BTW I read this in our paper this morning and feel cheated that we live in an area where there is too much light in Melbourne suburbs. I wonder if you are following this and live in a place where you may get some good pics.
