I know this little shrub as snowball tree, don't know its proper name, it flowers briefly , covered in these white balls of blossom, and then is pretty nondescript the rest of the year.

gorgeous shot kali. i think this might be exochorda, also known as a pearl bush - we have one in our garden and it always flowers early in the spring and indeed then looks like nothing special
beautiful! We have a spring-flowering shrub in our front garden which appears very similar and thankfully survives the sea winds; it is Mock Orange (philadelphus virginal) and is really fragrant and profuse with white flowers. I love it too.
