First time we have had fruit on this tree

So is the fruit ripe yet? I'm not sure I've ever heard of a loquat. Another ramble through Google is in order.

@kali66 They're like a small citrus fruit? One eats the whole thing, skin and all? I might have seen them in one of the fancier grocery stores.

@randystreat not much like citrus, similar to guava , but you may not know them either .

Oh Yum... We have one of these trees - but it hardly ever produces fruit. I hope they ripen nicely.

Are they similar to Kumquats? I thought so as they have similar sounding names.
