It's common to see Red-tailed Hawks along the highways in Kansas. They are usually perched on top of telephone poles or trees, making it difficult to get a decent close-up. This hawk caught my attention because he was perched on top of this No Passing Zone sign, as if scrutinizing the passersby. I was happy to capture him flaunting his red tail as he took flight.
