Saying Good-Bye by kareenking

Saying Good-Bye

This photo is symbolic of two farewells: 1) my three daughters who go their separate ways this summer - one as a newlywed to Oregon, one as an Au Pair in Germany, and the other as a freshman at Kansas University, and 2) the original Osage City Covenant Church which will be torn down this summer.
Oh no. I think I'm much sadder about the church than the rest. The rest is adventure! So is the wedding going to be in OR? More reasons for you to come visit?!?

@m9f9l My daughter got married in Kansas but is finishing college in Oregon. They're still on the road today! And yes, it's sad to see this historical site be torn down. It wound up being way too expensive to restore. :(

That will make this picture very special. When you daughters come back, you may have a reunion photo in front of ???

Wonderful photo. Good luck to all your daughters. This came to mind...

“And the seasons they go 'round and 'round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game” -- Joni Mitchell

Really beautiful family. This is an awesome memory shot! Very nicely done!

Wow. A triple whammy for you! Great shot one for their albums. Why destroy the church. Why not do it up and keep some heritage I wonder?
June 25th, 2013
Triple whammy indeed. Such a shame about the old church as well!

@danette @joanf @nanderson Thanks so much, Danette, Joan, and Nancy. :)

@johnfalconer Thanks, John. The building is being torn down after much thought and discussion. In the end it was decided to tear it down because it costs too much to restore it and they couldn't find any other organizations to help fund its restoration.
