These are the theatre entry doors. One of the nicest entries to theatre that we’ve seen with our little blossom.
Even knowing she’s in good hands etc it’s still difficult saying the last goodbye before surgery. At least there was something artsy to appreciate while waiting.
All’s well and recovering nicely.
@onewing It is the John Hunter in Newcastle. Our youngest daughter was scheduled for surgery there as the waitlist was significantly shorter than Westmead or Royal North Shore. The artwork around the hospital is actually lovely.
@kartia I agree the artwork at the John Hunter hospital is fabulous I have taken photos of it many times over the years as it changes in the corridors very often. Hope your daughter has recovered now.
@kjarn@christinav Thanks Kathy & Christina. Our youngest daughter had a scheduled surgery which was great to have done as it's been a long wait. I'm finding photography a great distraction when in the hospital environment - it's not really my favourite place and helps keeps my mind off the anxiety I feel there. Very glad to be home again!
Wonderful artwork shows how important it can be (with 2 artists in my family) never underestimate its power. I bet it cheers up a lot of youngsters. ♥️
@365projectorgjoworboys Bit off topic but re importance of art - I couldn't agree more. Was privy to a conversation between two young people discussing their future careers a while back. One wanted to be an Artist and the other an Actuary. I have nothing against either, however the Actuary hopeful was being very derogatory about the prospects for an artist. Was struck dumb with the challenge "tell me off the top of your head, the name of ten actuaries that any person you met in the street could name". Humanity values art, please thank your family!
I am so glad to hear your daughter's surgery went well, you survived the waiting room, and that she's on the mend! And I know very well how art can help with medical recovery- I've been in the hospital 4 times since 2019 and each time I took a picture with my cell phone camera as soon as I could- it got my mind off my environment from a medical standpoint and got me thinking ahead to using my dslr when I got home! I like this reassuring door and the connection it has to easing your wait time and the doctors who are making a difference for your family.
