A Mother's Love by kathyladley

A Mother's Love

This is a picture of a ewe who just lambed. She is cleaning the birth fluids off the newest lamb. While she does this she is constantly cooing to both lambs. The lamb in the back of the photo is her first lamb ( who was born about 30 minutes before) and is nursing. These are Katahdin Hair Sheep and they are great mothers.
Thank you for your kind comments on my lamb photos. 365 has been so good because we have been raising lambs for about seven years and took very few pictures. It is nice to now have a photo history of lambing.
Also my commenting is sporadic because it is based on how much work there is at the barn. I will catch up.
At bit icky but oh so sweet! I love that you got her tongue in action!

@drussell Haha! I waited until she had him almost clean to decrease the icky factor!

@calm It has been a hard lambing season. A couple of more weeks and the births should be done. Then I will sleep.
