Flicka's Furry Winter Coat

I was out to see Flicka today, but the wind was blowing soooo hard and there was so much ice that I didn't stay long. I took this shot of her enjoying her breakfast hay and noticed how thick her winter fur is. She's not cold at all - see the snow blowing in the field behind her....Brrrrr!

O my...she looks so much like a horse I fell hopelessly in love with. The colour, the sweet eye and even the halter matches.
I love how the fluffy teddybear look shows, it makes it, together with the snow a real wintershot.

@pum71 Thank you - she is a very sweet mare....gentle and loves her carrots....but today she wouldn't come when I called her and it was too icy to get out to her. Wind is blowing hard too....Nasty day to be outdoors :(

Love this shot...great dof and beautiful subject. I love photographing my horses in the winter, they appear so much softer and huggable.

I know what you mean. I have a computer full of horse, cow and dog photos, but I don't want people on 365 to think I can't photograph anything else.
