Probably one of my favourite water birds. These little guys constantly amaze me. They are fearless and love to live near fast running water. They jump in and actually swim underwater as if flying. They do not have webbed feet. They do have white feathers that cover their eyes underwater. I love watching them as they bob on their perch.
@christinav@pamknowler They are one of my favourites. They are an aquatic bird AND a songbird. They don't just sing in the spring nesting time, but all year round. Lovely to hear their melody in the dead of winter.
