Friendly birds

There are so many similar looking species around here, even my bird book admits it is hard to tell them apart. This little guy was following us along the trail at the beach.

@markp I have a bird book that focuses on birds in the south west of BC but they look so familiar whether they are male or female or in breeding plumage or juvenile.....I just enjoy them :)
