At the rescue centre today - saw this barred owl. Not wild...cannot be released. Her injuries are too severe so she will have to live the rest of her life here.
What a beautiful bird she is! It's a pity she's been so injured, but heartwarming that she's been taken in and will be given a good life with (I suspect) daily mice rations! Someone will make her very happy!
@Weezilou Yes, sad to see some of the birds who will never be able to be released to the wild...but most of them have friends with their caretakers and other birds.
