Young black bear

This poor guy was so inept....he plunged around and couldn't catch a fish, even though the river was full of pinks.

Wow, what a great experience. I've never seen a bear in the wild. Hope his mum is still helping him out over the food situation!

@yorkshirekiwi Hard to say if mum was still around. They usually kick the cubs out when they are 18 - 24 months old.
