I didn't take this picture; my dad did. Their next door neighbors had an above-ground pool installed in their background last spring because they have friends over pretty often. This spring, this pair of ducks have become fairly permanent residents! Not only do they swim in the neighbors' pool, they munch on bird seed under my dad's feeder. They've been a lot of fun to watch!
September 2015 - I dropped my Nikon L22 at the arboretum (on asphalt!) and it's definitely broken. :(

She occasionally gets chased away by a squirrel who's kind of a bully. I'm not sure how this pair wound up in the pool and I wonder what will happen to them if the neighbors should decide they want the ducks gone. My dad has joked about having duck for dinner, but if push came to shove, I bet he would call the zoo or the forest preserve office for help.
