Artichokes

I made a quick supermarket stop for things for the rest of the week’s lunches. On my way to the bananas I noticed these artichokes. I thought their triangular outer leaves were an interesting pattern. You can’t see it well in this picture but the cut end of the stem also has a pattern, which reminded me of how trees have rings. Thank you, 365 Project for teaching me to notice things I wouldn’t have before.

Nice shot of these interesting veggies. We used to grow them on our allotment, but they weren't our favourite. They do have beautifl flowers though
