Millie for Mother's Day by kevin365

Millie for Mother's Day

My Mom asked me to take this pic awhile ago. Waited till today to do it :) Represents all the women who went to work in the textile mills in the 1800s as the plaque says in part "Industrial revolutionaries who broke with the past to earn their living making history and creating the future."

I wrote the following for my Mom many, many years ago. It bears repeating often but certainly more so today:

i am proud of you today
as i have been proud of you every day
that has brought you to today

i have watched you in happy times
and i have seen you share that happiness
with all those around you

And in challenging times, when you struggled
i have seen you struggle
and succeed

i have seen you knocked down
and stand up

i have seen you weep
and laugh
pound your fist in anger and frustration
open your arms with love and compassion

And always
always i have been proud

i am proud of you today
I love this sculpture, Kevin. Such strength in the face -- and so lovely against the clouds. Thanks, too, for sharing the lovely words for your mother.
