What an eventful day we had today. The weather forecast said snow for the morning, but it wasn't until after lunch that it started to fall - and fall it did.
I was extremely excited to get outside and use my camera. I had some wonderful vantage points to snap away from. I had so much fun!
If you look to the right of this photo, you can see our netted orchard. It is a huge covered in area where we have around 60 fruit trees.
Unfortunately the weight of the snow on the netting has seen it collapse this evening. We had to go out at 10 pm to try and remove some of the snow to try and save our trees from total destruction.
On a positive note. Can you find little Isabella our dog in this photo? She is hiding in plain sight :)
Today I am grateful for the joy the snow brought to our day. It was very exciting to watch it snow for hours and hours. I am also grateful for the hard work everyone put in working with the damaged orchard while getting covered by the snow from on top of the netting and soaked by the rain that has now arrived. I'll try to visually document the damage tomorrow.
Snow will be quite a rare thing in Tasmania I’m guessing! It is exciting at first but makes farm8ng life hard work. Let’s hope yours doesn’t last long.
Oh good grief you are getting snowed in. I hope you were successful in getting all the snow off of the netting! I saw Isabella right away. Does she love the snow? Our dog does.
That was a busy day- it makes me tired just thinking of all the snow you had to remove! I hope the trees are still good and not damaged too much. I had fun finding Isabella.
Beautiful capture and winter scene. I think I can see Isabella sitting on the white snow. Sudden changes of weather always bring about some excitement but this is even more exceptional. I hope you have managed to save all the trees in the orchard.
Now you have to try some frozen bubble photography!
