Red Letter Day by khawbecker

Red Letter Day

In my office, we use the Code of Federal Regulations all of the time. This is the aisle in the Interior Department library devoted to the CFR. The red volumes are the newest editions, celebrating the CFR's 75th anniversary. They present the perfect opportunity for a selective color photo.
This reminds me of a scene from a futuristic movie, like Minority Report. It would be very austere, if not for the colored reference books. Nice Karen!

@davydo Thanks, Dave! I learned today that "the stacks" in this library, as we call them, were designed by Naval engineers. The library goes three stories underground. It sort of has the feel of being in the tight quarters of a ship.

The aisle draws you into the picture, I'm interested to know if these rows of books would be computerised. Nice capture.

@ladymagpie Thanks, Heather. All of these books are, in fact, available online. However, it comes in handy to be able to flip through the pages too. I'm glad we still have access to the hard copies.

VERY cool shot....draws the eye right down the corridor! I agree with David Ortiz...the composition & color give it a very futuristic look!
