Jefferson Aglow by khawbecker

Jefferson Aglow

I ran to catch the last rays of sunshine hitting the west side of the Jefferson Memorial tonight. A cold stiff wind coming off the tidal basin made my work quick. (The time is 7:02 pm. I changed the time on my Sony, but forgot to change my Canon.)
Great Scott (and shot)! You just reminded me I forgot to change the time on my camera :O

@hondo So much of our technology changes the time on its own, I'm shocked our cameras don't!

Wonderful shot! Fabulous lighting -- you are so fortunate to be in such an awesome city for photography. This one is stunning.

Beautiful capture and great pov! Great lines and light. Lovely blue sky....doesn't look cold, but I know that wind can really make it cold!

@taffy Thanks, Taffy! I am seeing the city anew with this photo project.

@davydo Thanks, Dave! The moon has been positioned nicely these days.

@eyesmile Thank you, Gena! It doesn't look cold, does it. Makes me laugh to think how windy it was and this picture doesn't reflect it at all.

You have such an interesting variety of photos in your project...never a dull subject. I love how the light hits the monument and gives it that wonderful golden glow!

@bluemoon Thanks, Paula! I'm lucky enough to have a great selection of subjects nearby. I hope that, by the end of my project, you aren't thinking, "Man, not another picture of the Lincoln Memorial!" Ha! I too love how the setting sun can make just about anything sparkle.

Lovely capture with the moon over head and the sun on the building.

@moxy Thanks, Shelley. I had hoped to capture a full moon photo, but we had overcast skies and snowfall instead. This was only three days shy of the full moon.

I would say that this is my favorite memorial in DC. Love the perspective and the lighting. You are lucky to be so close to them. My son lives in Virginia and works in DC :)
