The Late Unpleasantness by khawbecker

The Late Unpleasantness

"The late unpleasantness" is a folk phrase that refers to the U.S. Civil War. In this rain-soaked photo, one can see the Civil War break in the Washington Monument very plainly. The phrase also perfectly describes today's relentless and heavy rainfall. This photo is SOOC.
April 30th late unpleasantness for sure. Nice analogy.

Really like this shot. Great composition compressing the different elements and providing a great sense of depth and scale. Your unconventional placement of the monument is creative and and easy fav.

Whoa! I love the drama of this photo. Your composition is awesome. Somehow I never knew about the Civil War break in the Washington Monument. That is very cool, and very symbolic. This was a fave for me.
