Each year, the Smithsonian Institute hosts a Folklife Festival that focuses on various cultures and states. This year, the two countries are China and Kenya. As you can see in this photo, they are busily setting up the venue tents on the Mall between the Capitol building and the Washington Monument. The festival opens this Wednesday, June 25, and runs through July 6 (with a break on June 30 and July 1).
Barely visible in the background on the left is the front cornice of the Supreme Court building. The dome on the background right is the Library of Congress.
Super composition and nice capture of the Capitol and Library of Congress! I didn't quite catch the Supreme Court. Lovely photo Karen! And EVERGREEN besides. :-)
@carolyns Thanks, Carolyn. :) It is an active place to live. I'm certain I'm not aware of even half of the events going on in the city at any given time.
Sounds like it'll be a great festival.
