Winged landing by kiwinanna

Winged landing

September 1918 - A remarkable survival story - Ace Lieutenant 'Grid' Caldwell landed his damaged aircraft by standing on the wing, steering with his right hand to balance the aircraft until it cleared the front line trenches and he could jump off and somersault as he hit the ground. No parachute so no other option but what a feat!
I recognise this - I was there a few weeks ago. An impressive collection and really well depicted. If you cropped out the wall on the right you would think you'd been on hand to capture the action!

@pitasmum I wondered about the cropping. Thanks for the advice.

@maggiemae Thanks for the Fav. Do you mean you want to ride on the wing? Could get interesting!
