We were actually exiting the entrance on the way to Wellington. It was a very calm ferry crossing over Cook Strait - a good omen for our weekend in the city to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday. This is Jackson Head with the old lighthouse barely visible.
@snaphappi Now I thought it was cirrus but hadn't heard the 'aviatus' name. I will have to drop that into the conversation sometime - it kind of rolls off the tongue. I liked the jet trails too.
