Past their use by date, these tyres hold down the tarpaulins on the silage pits at the local dairy farm. I'm not sure I would like to try stepping through this maze of rubber.
Ah the memories this brings back :) I can even remember the smell when the silage stack was opened. My Dad used to say that well made silage smelled sweet and he liked the smell of it. I think my smeller must be broken cause I have never smelled a silage stack that smells sweet....or that I like the smell of for that matter. Nice capture of a very common NZ rural scene :)
Same here @k1w1 I can't count the number of silo stacks I have covered with these retched things! A lousy job walking up the stack & they are big & steep in the UK compared to NZ Christine as our cows consume a lot of silo in winter. You throw them on & they splash stagnant water all over you & then you place them rim to rim all over the stack to keep the air out! Oh yes the smell of carefully made silo is just gorgeous though! Lovely to see & bring back memories Liana.
