just enough by koalagardens

just enough

That old dead bit of branch is just enough to hold Mist in place - how the heck that can be comfortable in any way is beyond me however!
Thanks for all the great comments, I'm glad the koala photos are enjoyed. We sure need to enjoy them while we have them!
Ooh my goodness , !! Mist must have great faith in that bit of broken branch which looks to me like dead wood !! The words of the lullaby comes to mind "and when the bough breaks down will come baby , cradle and all " Stay safe Mist !!

That really looks like a killer to me! Hold on tight, Mist!

She looks far from comfortable, rather like a child that has climbed a tree and right now would be shouting 'Mam, I'm stuck' :)

A very precarious perch :)

Doesn't look comfortable at all. Like the way Mist is looking down at you. Great shot.

I know right - precarious to say the least! Yet it seems it held as the dead bit is still there but Mist has moved ... phew!
Thanks for enjoying and putting her on the TP!

Nice shot

Well it certainly doesn't look comfortable! But I guess that lovely padding on Mist's rear end helps to cushion the rather uncomfortable looking branch!

I don't know how they get a good grip on those smooth trunks!

It's interesting that you mention padding - koalas, like wombats, have a tough cartilage plate at the lower part of their spine. In this photo Mist certainly has that plate against the dead branch. I guess that allows them to actually be comfortable - it would be like having a nice chair back attached so you could lean back against anything ;)
