This is a really common posture and amazing how far they can stretch (further than this) and how long they will hold as part of their fading into the background. I'm so glad you are all enjoying the tawny shots, this one has been so delightful to watch for me over so many days
I really wish I had one of those visiting my place. I have only seen them once in a pair sitting together in a tree after it had rained. The colouring and pose is quite special.
@fr1da yes usually I see a pair each year, so I don't know if one has been lost or if this is a younger one who needs a partner as they do mate for life @jesika2 they really are hard to spot - easy in a photo lol thanks for the comment - this weekend is a big one as we check the nesting boxes for squirrel gliders and little lorikeets which I put out with a funding grant I was successful gaining. I'm working for a balanced ecosystem, but yeah the koalas are just such an icon to treasure :) @beryl I am too, and thinking he needs a name, or will that jinx it and he will be gone .... @pamknowler they are so amazing, and I just keep finding him every day so of course I have to snap ;)
