Running late today, so snapped one of the miniature roses and ended up in ETSOOI mode!
Why am I late? Take two setting up a night vision wildlife camera. Take one was last night - and it was pointing just a little high, so I wasn't capturing the actual opening to the nesting box. Still I had a win - it caught the beautiful squirrel glider coming up the tree above the box. She has nested in there and likely has a joey or joeys in pouch! These are tiny marsupials and also rated vulnerable to extinction so this project is very exciting!
Thank you for the awesome comments and questions on my photos - if you read this far, thanks for just caring and being so involved!
@shannejw@merrelyn@shutterbug49 it is exciting - this project is actually nearly at the end of the second year of funding. This is the first time we have actually found a squirrel glider nesting so I went and bought the wildlife camera. There is one more funded year - I have an environmental science student that I'm paying with the funding to do most of the hard yakka side of things, he put the 22 boxes up in the trees, and we are going to move a few boxes. Very grateful to have someone else do that side of things!
Just had to google squirrel gliders. What an exciting project. I hope your night camera is successful and that we get to see some footage of these cute little animals.
