Can't believe I've made it all summer without any photos of our fab horse chestnut tree. This tree doesn't really grow in our zone, I've never seen another in Calgary, but it thrives in the protected area of our backyard between the house and garage. We love it so much that we almost don't mind how messy it is - debris from flowers and sticky seeds in the spring, and now prickly 'conker' chestnut shells, all cracked into pieces courtesy of the neighbourhood squirrels.
This is still pretty green!! There is one up in the park near our office... I took a photo of it earlier,
but now all the leaves have all turned and fallen.
This is a lovely shot... love the veins.
