Today is Day 183 - Halfway through this amazing project!!
For the Get-Pushed challenge, Sharon asked me "... to do a self portrait that shows something about you. You have a lovely family and you share alot of images of them. Being a Mom, it's important to focus on you sometimes too!"
It's true that most of my day is dedicated to my wonderful Juliet and Nora, but there are two things that keep me being me: this 365 project, which has me seeing beauty all around me; and hot yoga, which, for me, is a wonderful balance of mental and physical fitness.
November 14 is always special, too, because my paternal Grandpa and my maternal Grandma share this birthday - Happy 91 Grandpa and Happy 94 Grandma!
@sharritta ~ when I got your challenge, I knew that I wanted to do something yoga-ish... it is something that I love to do for just me! I wish it was nicer out so I could combine it with nature, but I managed a few minutes in an empty studio after my class today. (I couldn't seem to find a spot in my house zen enough for this shoot!)
Hats off to you, Kristin!!! You had Nora not long ago, and look at you. Wonderful selfie. I agree with you that 365 is something that nurtures myself, aside from any other activity I do.
Aw, I really love this one - partly because of the beautiful silhouette, but mostly because of the background of the challenge, and your interpretation of it. Fav from me!
Wonderful self portrait, I hope it didn't take you too many tries to get it right! It sure is important to have something for yourself. This will be a treasured photo in the years to come I bet.
@kiwichick ~ Ha! Not too many, but it is an added challenge to the pose to only have 10 seconds to run into place and find my balance! I did have a couple where I was toppling over!
Great shot Kristin. I love how I feel in a yoga class, but just as much I love how it looks on other people. Utter peace. I've been wanting to do a yoga-type photo shoot for awhile but there's never a quiet moment at my studio.
Wow... that's you??? You're awesome!! I love the silhouette!! I've only done yoga a few times but it was too quiet in there for me. I'm a Pilates girl!
@kwind ~ I want to try pilates too! I find that my yoga experience can vary so much with my frame of mind and with the teacher... I encourage you to give it another go!
Amazing! I can't believe you had a baby not long ago. Plus, stunning that you managed to set the self timer (I suppose) and then get yourself into that position.
very cool and unique idea for a meaningful selfie. I like how so many people's "get pushed" shots are ending up on the PP - - nice work....and shows us it is good to get pushed sometimes!
Inspirational shot...in many ways. :-)
