Berry Layers

For the Get Pushed challenge, Harry said, "...one way to make photos look more 3D is to take two similar photos, the only difference being one of them is a little bit out of focus. Layer them with the out of focus is on the bottom change the opacity on the focused one so the out of focus one would bleed through to get a 3-dimensional look."

There was a slight breeze and I didn't have my tripod, so I used a single image for this one and made a duplicate layer with gaussian blur to achieve the same effect (I think!) Not sure I've mastered this technique... check out the original SOOC pic here: http://365project.org/kph129/challenges/2012-11-27

Another attempt using two separate layered photos as Harry originally asked is here: http://365project.org/kph129/extras/2012-11-27

Interesting technique. I might give this a go too one day.

The gaussian blur technique retains the detail and gives a deeper colour; whereas the two images causes the colour to pop at the expense of two detail. You have done both techniques well.

Nice shot - surprising the difference that the processing has made!
