Grumpy Bee

This large carpenter bee did not like me taking photos. This is the first time I've encountered an aggressive bee. I started shooting with my 90 mm macro lens and quickly changed to my 100mm-400mm lens to get some distance from the flower and from the bee. This is our stokes aster... it is a perennial and the bees seem to love it.
