2021 01 26 Misty Cliffs

One more from our outing on Monday. This is Misty Cliffs on the Atlantic Coast, a little hamlet close to Scarborough. It's a truly magical little area, tranquil and largely unspoilt and bordering a nature reserve. Prices are astronomical but I can easily understand the appeal. Maybe one day when I win the lottery! :)
Its a shame to restrict this beautiful area to just the rich! However the photo does it justice!

@maggiemae It's not restricted Maggie. Open to the public and any one who wants to use the beach.

Looks lovely.

It is a beautiful setting for a home. I would worry about storms being that close to the ocean! Maybe they aren’t a problem in this area. The photo is beautifully composed.

Fabulous capture of this lovely scene and beautiful area. As gorgeous as it is, it would be a bit too secluded for me, safety wise.

The cliffs look quite dark, are they rocky? The ocean is beautiful.

@grammyn During the winter months, this area experiences severe storms, Katy. It's not known as the Cape of Storms for no reason! But I can't remember ever hearing about any of the houses being storm-damaged beyond repair. Fires on the other hand are a constant threat.

@happypat The cliffs are quite rocky, Pat, and rock falls along the road are quite common.

@kwiksilver The beach homes in our state are occasionally severely damaged by hurricanes but it’s not something that happens every year.

One would think living so close to the water the homes would not be threatened by fire

Oh to have a cottage right next to the beach like that
