First, this is a horrible picture but it documents our travel day. If you read yesterday's post, you're aware of the crazy way we started our holidays.
After the roof blew away and we got it dealt with, we drove almost two hours through snow and eventually rain. We managed to get on the first ferry leaving Vancouver island (the earlier ones were cancelled due to severe wind). We made it to my sister's house in time for dinner. Before bed, my son complained of a headache. At 11:30, he woke with a fever and then puked!! We gave him some medicine and hoped for the best. The alarm went off at 4:45am and he was still hot. We pumped him with drugs and headed to the airport for our 7am flight. We made it to Portland, Oregon and then switched to our first class ride (we used airmiles for all our flights). The kids were excited to be in row 3 and get real food on real dishes. All was going well until Gage decided it was time to throw again. Unfortunately, there was little warning so most of it went on his and my husband's jeans. It's a long story but because of the airmiles we flew to San Diego (instead of Orange County) and are now on the final leg of our travel day. We are riding the Amtrack to Disneyland as I type. Can't wait to get to our hotel. Gage is starting to fight with his sister so I'm hopefully with a good night's sleep he'll be ready for the happiest place on earth tomorrow.
Sorry for the long story but I'm bored!! Ha ha. Now you know why I posted this ugly picture of a sandwich.
Oh wow, Kim, interesting narrative... I remember those trips with my children. The bottom line is good and you are going to have lots of fun in Disney.
What a great story, Kim. . .er, great in terms of your story-telling ability not in having poor Gage be sick. I can remember so many identical stories of trips with our family - my daughter had such a delicate stomach and just the excitement of the upcoming vacation would send her into this same kind of upset!
Oh my...what an adventure! You came clear down to my neck of the woods and now are headed North! I hope your adventures at Disneyland are Magical! I can't wait to see your photos!!
i dont think its ugly, it documents your day :)
And what a day you all have had!!!! i bet you cant wait to get to your destination, get some much needed rest Im sure, and then start your fun vacation!!!
Hhahaha I like your ugly sandwich story! And I do hope your vacation on the happiest place on earth is much happier tomorrow!!! :) Enjoy and have a great time!
Here I figured your boat house was the end of your adventures, but guess that's not to be. Hope the rest of the trip down here goes better. Enjoy Disneyland and our warmer weather (though that's relative - it's been cold for SoCal the past couple of days).
Fantastic food capture. Looks super yummy! Hope things improve for you soon and that the rest of your trip is fantastic :) Can't wait to see the photos :)
Oh no! I'm so sorry he's sick! I hope he starts feeling better soon. That's no fun. I mean, things have to start looking up after the rough start you had, right? On a different note, that sandwich looks really good.
I must say I have been very lax in looking at others Photos. I don't know how you all find the time. Maybe it;s a age thing for me but there are never enough hours in a day. Have been considering dropping out of this one but know it will be a hard thing to do,
At any rate before I get to long-winded just wanted to say how much I enjoy your photos and to telly you how creative you are. Keep up the good work.
Good gosh, not fun. The flu bug has been running rampant around here too. Hopefully he will feel better once he hits Disney. So that's what the food looks like in first class....I have never had the priviledge.
