My Photo Book arrived by kwind

My Photo Book arrived

I make a photo book highlighting the events of year. I start it in January and add to it after any significant events. I can't imagine doing it all at once! I use a company out of New York called My Publisher. This is my fourth book. The quality is fantastic and the service wonderful. They are really easy to make and have tons of layout options. I use their Buy One, Get One Free coupon and get two books. I put one away and display the other on our coffee table. I figure when I'm old and senile and no longer want clutter in my house, I can give each child a copy so they will be able to cherish the memories we've made. You can include captions (even paragraphs) if you want so I treat the book like a journal and make notes to remember relevant facts. I'm going to make one with all my 365 photos at the end of my year.
I love this idea! I got a couple of photo book coupons for Christmas and cant wait to use them!

Love it, its a great idea. I have done a couple for kids at school. The place that I use to get them from have changed the upload and laying out process and it's now more trouble than it's worth. Might have to jump ship - cos yours looks absolutely fantastic :)

Love this! and the books look so really well made. I was given one a couple of years ago by my best friend with photos of my girls and am planning another one too. But like your idea better. will check it out!

Very cool
January 17th, 2013
Amazing, Kim. Don't books make the photography so 'real'?
January 17th, 2013
Awesome idea. I keep starting them but never get them printed. You have inspired me to complete the task.
January 17th, 2013
Great idea!

What a fabulous tradition to be enjoyed for years to come!

Beautiful idea, looks fabulous. I would love to make one of these for each of my children. Always seem like I never have the time. I like the way you add as each event happens, makes the process a lot easier I would guess.

Kim this is such a great idea! Surely something you and next generations will cherish.
January 17th, 2013
Very cool!! I just finished putting together my 1st photobook from last year's "365" photos. I'll be thrilled when it arrives too.
January 17th, 2013
@cameronknowlton Yes, I love the books for making the photos 'real'. I've made several now for myself and for gifts.
January 17th, 2013
Love the cover photo. I will check out the company, too. Looks like a wonderful keepsake.
January 17th, 2013
Looks gorgeous! I got a book done for my first year but way behind on year two. Well worth it.

Beautifully composed and I love the book idea.

Fantastic wow you have so many great shots, well done.
January 17th, 2013
I love photo books. I have done several, and it is a great way to commemorate a milestone in your work. When I travel, I take them with me so my family and friends can catch up on what I am doing.
January 17th, 2013
what a lovely idea! it looks wonderful :)

Love wonderful

Lyn
What I love is that you have explained that you stay on top of it throughout the year. . .what's really impossible is trying to put one together for the year if you haven't stayed caught up!!
January 17th, 2013
@lyno The key to start it now!! I have over 500 photos in this book and I've labelled all the places, dates and key features. I'd never remember all that if I left it to December. When we went to Europe, I kept a computer journal and then transferred it all to a specific book I made for the trip.
January 17th, 2013
I do one for each of my adventures when I travel. Great idea and such a great momento!!
January 17th, 2013
This looks wonderful Kim. Does the company you use provide a link so I can look at the book properly?
January 17th, 2013
@kjarn It does provide ways to share it via Facebook, twitter and email. I'm not sure how to do it here though. If you just google "my publisher" you can see examples. If you give me your email, I can mail you the link.
January 17th, 2013
Fantastic idea, so nice to use all the photos we take instead of just storing them on the computer!
January 17th, 2013
I'd love to see it. My email is kathyjaneaustin@gmail.com
January 17th, 2013
Oh good idea - my sister gave me a voucher for one as my Christmas present... the only thing that is stopping me getting started is feeling daunted at the task!
January 17th, 2013
I had one made up of all my favourite shots from my 365 year which ended up to be about 120 & it was awesome, totally blew me away seeing them printed like that :)
January 17th, 2013
Great idea. I had planned to do one with all my Year 1 images but have not got around to it yet. This has inspired me to get going on it!
January 17th, 2013
Looks beautiful.
January 17th, 2013
@kjarn There's some technical difficulties with the site at the moment. I just called because the email wouldn't go out. They said they are working on the problem so I'll try again later today. I didn't want you to think I wasn't doing it!!
January 17th, 2013
Great idea can you mail them out to us for reference and inspiration ?
January 17th, 2013
@kwind No problem and thanks for going to the trouble.
January 17th, 2013
This is such a fantastic idea. Looks fabulous xx
January 17th, 2013
What a wonderful way to keep your treasured photos and memories.
January 18th, 2013
I love this idea. I have made photo books of vacation photos but have been overwhelmed with completing an album of a entire year's worth of highlights. So, if I understand correctly, My Publisher lets you keep a work in progress over the course of the year? That would really make a year's album feel so much more manageable.
January 18th, 2013
@pflaume Yes, it's all on YOUR computer. You download the free software and then just work on it throughout the year. The only time you go online is when it's done and you're uploading it to the site. They deliver in less than a week... they are fabulous quality. I had one that had a slight bend in the spine and I complained and they sent me a new one the following week (and even let me keep the old one).
January 18th, 2013
@kwind That's wonderful! I am so inspired. Thank you for the info!
January 18th, 2013
That is so wonderful, Kim. I always receive the e-mails with promotions from them, and have seen finished books at a friend's home, and they are really good. Congratulations.
January 18th, 2013
Awesome! It looks great! I'm hoping to compile a photo book at the end of my 365. I want to do one with a 52 week project of the kids I did last year too. I like how you set up the little flowers to display with them. :)
January 18th, 2013
What a great idea and so lovely for the kids. Love the setup of this shot.
January 19th, 2013
Love the presentation of the books - I make a photo book every year for my granddaughter - a gift no one else can give her.
January 19th, 2013
It's so much fun to look at those books. I do a highlight book for each year, and one for voyages. Going to try blurp. Have fun
January 19th, 2013
Love it - must do one for my year too ...did you put all of your shots in it or just a selection!!
