Those who have followed for a while know about my soon to be 11 year old son's health issues. It all started with a bout of diarrhea back in mid September that lasted nearly a month. After numerous tests and a colonscopy it was determined that he has Ulcerative Colitis. The shot on the left was taken on our last trip to Children's Hospital in early February. He was down to 5ml (his max dose was 40ml) of prednisone and took a couple more doses after this day. The right hand shot was taken tonight. He has lost the 15 lbs he gained from that nasty drug and has decided to grow out his hair! He takes two "long term" pills a day (with applesauce) now and is feeling so much better than he was in the fall. There's still more tummy aches than I'd like but the worse seems to be over!
Oh my goodness, what a difference!!!!!! I don't know his whole story, but I hate to hear any kid (or anyone) going through any kind of health issues. I am so glad to hear, and see, that's he's doing SO much better!!!! And, they're great shots too!! Fav!!
Fav. This is great. The difference is fantastic. His spirit comes through in both shots. It's awful to watch kids going through ill health. My eldest granddaughter has kidney problems; juvenile arthritis and a fantastic fighting spirit. So glad everything is getting better. You can begin to relax now.
He looks great! I don't think I would have known it was the same boy. So glad he is feeling better, sorry you had to go through that, and still going through it. That is tough.
It's so heart breaking to watch a child go through a serious health issue. I'm so glad to hear & see he's doing much better. Hope & pray he continues to feel better. I love his new hair style!
I remember the problem being diagnosed and wondered. Good to see that he had the right treatment and that the weight gain has been stopped with those pills. He looks so happy here!
Am glad this good looking fellow's doing okey( knock on wood)- he looks very healthy and happy:)---- I switch my lifestyle to mostly fruits/ veggies- no red meat for 2 yrs. now -and eat only organic and Glutten free food- not easy and expensive but feeling much better now too :)
No one wants to see her child in ill health, and I can only imagine how difficult it was to always be up-in-spirit for him when you no doubt feel miserable to see this happening to your son. He certainly looks wonderful now...the beautiful child he was meant to be. My very best to the both of you and to his continued recovery & good health.
Soooo glad to hear this and what great progress! Such a good looking and happy looking young man..even when he was under all that nasty business. Very happy for him....and love this shot!
So glad he's on the mend. He looks so different, only recognisable as the same child by those very distinctive eyebrows :o) Lovely to see him smiling in both shots too. He's obviously been through a lot but hopefully he'll improve every day xx
what a change ! Incredible in few months ! He's starting to look like a very handsome teenager...no more a baby-boy !
I hope his problems will be definitively behind very soon !
So glad things are looking up for him! He looks like he has a very positive personality, & such a change in a short few months. Gorgeous captures of him.
What a great shot and a very brave young man. I suffer from diverticulitis so can imagine some of the pain he has gone through. Hope he is well and truly on the mend now.
That is really a remarkable difference. I wasnt Aware of the illness of your Boy. I am orry you all have to deal with that. But herei s hope that it will continue imrpoving and he Looks pretty happy on the latest Picture :)
I know the difficulties prednisolone can bring and how fast it can make you gain weight, glad things are going better, and fingers crossed to keep it that way! Great shots here, he has so much character in both and you've captured it perfectly.
I had been wondering about that lately, but didn't want to pry, the photo says it all! I am so very happy for him and for the knot that must have been in your stomach all this time. as a side note, he's becoming quite a stunner!
I hope his problems will be definitively behind very soon !
