I must ramble a bit.... last night at about 7:30pm I was outside on my patio watching 7 Orcas swim slowly past my house no more than 100' from the beach. Just as they were leaving, the phone rings and it's the whale watching company we went out with on Sunday (when I got my recent dolphin pics) calling to offer me a FREE spot on their Grizzly Bear tour today! They wanted to thank me for being a repeat customer, referring many others and sharing my photos & videos (they are using many of them on their website). So, today we left the dock at 8:30am and didn't get off the boat until 6pm. We had the most INCREDIBLE day. It started with 7 orcas, then 19 grizzly bears, 150 dolphins, seal lions, seals, eagles and helilogging where we saw individual logs being dropped from a helicopter into the ocean were a tug boat retrieved it and pulled it to a log boom. Despite the fact that I sat on my bum most of the day, I am exhausted and I now have 500 pictures I need to go through. This shot is from Sunday and shows the landscape we were travelling in today as well. I'll share bear shots tomorrow. All I can say is I love British Columbia!
Oh wow! Sounds like an amazing day....so much wildlife! And have learnt something new - helilogging! Looking forward to seeing your bear shots. I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to travel out west before we leave Canada in April. I will just have to live vicariously through your shots! :-)
I'm so totally envious of your day!!! It shows that generosity pays off in unexpected ways. What an amazing way to spend the day and I can't wait to see your photos of the bears, etc.
Oh you are so LUCKY! I love BC and the San Juan Islands off Washington, not to mention Orcas, dolphins, eagles-all of them! I just spent some time there last month. It would be heaven to see all that wildlife and scenery on a daily basis!
How fortunate you are ! First living where you do, and then the blessing of a fabuloy on the water. I went on a whale watching tour from Victoria in June, and saw heaps of orcas and a couple of humpbacks, but certainly no grizzlys (although we were lucky enough to see one on the road between Banff and Lake Louise). Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.
What a fantastic day with the bonus if so much wildlife. We visited Canada a few years ago and were privileged to see 2 mothers with cubs eating berries and a brown bear just outside our campsite at Kananaskas NP. And 2 elks. So exciting. But ALL that on one day... Wow!
You picked a great spot to live...love your scenery & can't wait to see the photos! How would you start checking all those photos, my computer would be a day uploading them!!
OH now I get it!! Not only do you live in such a spectacular place but you are near equally specacular places. HOw fun to go no such an adventure. This is beautiful.
Nice shot here too and love the reflections.
Likely you.......can't wait to see your pics!
I love BC and can't wait to visit. 😄

It's a pleasure to discover British Columbia through your photos, I hope I will be lucky one day to visit your area !!
And I totally can't wait to see the bears. What a cool thing for those folks to do and they are very savvy advertisers.
