Elk Falls by kwind

Elk Falls

I thought this photo was an appropriate filler for today give that tomorrow I am having my first ever colonscopy. I've been drinking various potions to empty myself. The process has actually been much better than I predicted. I had a lazy day and thought I'd have a bath this afternoon. All was good until I drained the tub and the water stopped flowing. I looked over at our separate shower and saw water coming up the drain! Of course my husband is away at work so I had to get the plumber and septic men out to check on things. If you've ever done the clean out for this procedure you can imagine my panic as our plumbing came to a stand still. Luckily, everything is flowing again! Haha! This was taken at Elk Falls Provincial Park, 20 minutes from my house. The photo of my family in the trees on Oct. 26th was taken on the trail we walked to view this amazing waterfall. It's unusually large right now because BC Hydro is releasing water through the dam upstream. Here's some facts on it if you're interested: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/elk_falls/

Thanks for all your comments and favs on yesterday's rainbow umbrella shot. I was able to do a lot of commenting today but tomorrow will be another story. I'll check back with you all this weekend!
Hysterical metaphor and very apt! And a great shot. Good luck!

So sorry. I've been there. Not the plumbing problem, though. It's a beautiful photo.

How can I be laughing at a colonoscopy...Good Luck
November 7th, 2014
Wonderful shot of this waterfalls. The good news is...the prep for a colonoscopy is the worst part! Hope all goes well for you tomorrow!
November 7th, 2014
Good luck tomorrow. What a wonderful place to have 20 minutes away.
November 7th, 2014
I'm not laughing - I think you are very brave for agreeing to a c'scopy! This is tremendous - catching that huge volume of white water! fav
November 7th, 2014
Giggled (that wasn't nice of me) while I was reading your commentary (of course, I knew if you were writing that things had to have turned out ok) but I can imagine the short term panic!! Fortunately when the prep is over, the worst is over. You picked a beautiful shot to share today - fabulous waterfalls.

You're a gem, Kim! Your comedic candor would be the envy of any stage comic! It's a brilliant piece of writing and should be given the Katie Couric Award for passing the word about getting a colonscopy! Just last spring our doctor said that no one should ever have to die from colon cancer when the preventative measures are readily available. Good luck...and I, too, agree, the worst is already over!

Amazing! I hope it all goes well tomorrow :D keep this image in mind :D

November 7th, 2014
oh i just saw that c word.. all the best . great image
November 7th, 2014
That is sure some mass of falling water! Wonderful. Those preps sure are awful, but we all must do them. Should be no problem, except perhaps some gas discomfort afterwards. All the best.
November 7th, 2014
This is a fantastic photo! Love the mist in the air. Fav!
November 7th, 2014
An absolutely beautiful capture of a remarkable waterfall, an instant fav! And I would have given you a fav for your comments too if I could! Hope you get through tomorrow as comfortably as possible.

Wonderful analogies here, and I am glad your plumbing problems were resolved! The colonoscopy should be a breeze! That was probably the most relaxing time that I had since I was put under for the duration. Good luck with it tomorrow. I think drinking that liquid is the worst part of it!
November 7th, 2014
Oh dear...this would flush you out for sure. Powerful image Glad to hear that the plmbing is all back in order...hahaha!! Good luck tomorrow.

That´s amazing looking place, love the sense of power. Good luck to your colonscopy. I have had the endoscopy done to me, so I´m guessing colonoscopy isn´t fun either. Hope all goes well!
November 7th, 2014
Ha ha - nice shot! I refused to go with the colonoscopy thing. We don't do it routinely in the UK, so I opted out. My hubby did it though, good lad that he is.
November 7th, 2014
very nice, it looks like steam is coming off the water.
November 7th, 2014
Good luck tomorrow and glad your plumbing is back to normal :)
November 7th, 2014
Oh, I had a good chuckle. I had my second colonoscopy last month, and I would have been very panicked when needing to call a plumber! Good luck tomorrow, it is very quick and easy. BTW lovely shot.

Lovely photograph, and as for the commentary, it'snot a very pleasant procedure but approaching it with good humour is a great help. Good luck with it - and a Fave for the photo!

Fantastic shot!
November 8th, 2014
This looks like an amazing place!!!! Gorgeous photo!
November 8th, 2014
I hope all is well with the colonoscopy, I can imagine your panic. My husband has had several now and was so lucky with the first one as they removed a 4cm polyp that was the beginning of cancer. He continues to have them removed each time, without this technology it would be a different story for him. Good luck! Wonderful shot :)
November 8th, 2014
so gorgeous! huge FAV! oh man! and here I thought being a diabetic saws the big hurdle....man you got a double sammy! I would have panicked about that too
November 9th, 2014
Had to come over and read the beginning of the story! Oh my goodness...that would be so stressful but it is a good story and I guess you can laugh about it now! Did you ever see the movie Ghost Town with Ricky Gervais? It's so funny and I always think about it when someone says they are getting a colonoscopy. Great shot! Fav!!!
November 9th, 2014
Love the powerful falls. I would have panicked in your situation as well!!
Hope all goes well.
