I thought this photo was an appropriate filler for today give that tomorrow I am having my first ever colonscopy. I've been drinking various potions to empty myself. The process has actually been much better than I predicted. I had a lazy day and thought I'd have a bath this afternoon. All was good until I drained the tub and the water stopped flowing. I looked over at our separate shower and saw water coming up the drain! Of course my husband is away at work so I had to get the plumber and septic men out to check on things. If you've ever done the clean out for this procedure you can imagine my panic as our plumbing came to a stand still. Luckily, everything is flowing again! Haha! This was taken at Elk Falls Provincial Park, 20 minutes from my house. The photo of my family in the trees on Oct. 26th was taken on the trail we walked to view this amazing waterfall. It's unusually large right now because BC Hydro is releasing water through the dam upstream. Here's some facts on it if you're interested: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/elk_falls/
Thanks for all your comments and favs on yesterday's rainbow umbrella shot. I was able to do a lot of commenting today but tomorrow will be another story. I'll check back with you all this weekend!
Giggled (that wasn't nice of me) while I was reading your commentary (of course, I knew if you were writing that things had to have turned out ok) but I can imagine the short term panic!! Fortunately when the prep is over, the worst is over. You picked a beautiful shot to share today - fabulous waterfalls.
You're a gem, Kim! Your comedic candor would be the envy of any stage comic! It's a brilliant piece of writing and should be given the Katie Couric Award for passing the word about getting a colonscopy! Just last spring our doctor said that no one should ever have to die from colon cancer when the preventative measures are readily available. Good luck...and I, too, agree, the worst is already over!
That is sure some mass of falling water! Wonderful. Those preps sure are awful, but we all must do them. Should be no problem, except perhaps some gas discomfort afterwards. All the best.
An absolutely beautiful capture of a remarkable waterfall, an instant fav! And I would have given you a fav for your comments too if I could! Hope you get through tomorrow as comfortably as possible.
Wonderful analogies here, and I am glad your plumbing problems were resolved! The colonoscopy should be a breeze! That was probably the most relaxing time that I had since I was put under for the duration. Good luck with it tomorrow. I think drinking that liquid is the worst part of it!
That´s amazing looking place, love the sense of power. Good luck to your colonscopy. I have had the endoscopy done to me, so I´m guessing colonoscopy isn´t fun either. Hope all goes well!
Ha ha - nice shot! I refused to go with the colonoscopy thing. We don't do it routinely in the UK, so I opted out. My hubby did it though, good lad that he is.
Oh, I had a good chuckle. I had my second colonoscopy last month, and I would have been very panicked when needing to call a plumber! Good luck tomorrow, it is very quick and easy. BTW lovely shot.
Lovely photograph, and as for the commentary, it'snot a very pleasant procedure but approaching it with good humour is a great help. Good luck with it - and a Fave for the photo!
Definitely an appropriate photo for today. good luck with the colonoscopy. I have got a colonoscopy and gastroscopy booked for next Friday. I have to have them every two years.
I hope all is well with the colonoscopy, I can imagine your panic. My husband has had several now and was so lucky with the first one as they removed a 4cm polyp that was the beginning of cancer. He continues to have them removed each time, without this technology it would be a different story for him. Good luck! Wonderful shot :)
so gorgeous! huge FAV! oh man! and here I thought being a diabetic saws the big hurdle....man you got a double sammy! I would have panicked about that too
Had to come over and read the beginning of the story! Oh my goodness...that would be so stressful but it is a good story and I guess you can laugh about it now! Did you ever see the movie Ghost Town with Ricky Gervais? It's so funny and I always think about it when someone says they are getting a colonoscopy. Great shot! Fav!!!
Hope all goes well today.
Read you story. You`re very optimistic and funny. Hope all get`s well.
Hope all goes well.
hope all went well with the procedure
