Those who saw yesterday's post know that today is my big day... colonscopy. The preparation really hasn't been that bad but given that I'm type 1 diabetic it's more complicated and nerve wracking for me. I have not gone this long without food in 25 years. I tested my blood sugar almost hourly yesterday and had to adjust my insulin pump levels dramatically. I drank over a litre of apple juice the past 24 hours along with water and other diet drinks. I don't feel hungry. I just feel empty and tired. I set my alarm for every two hours to check my blood so I barely slept. I woke to this sunrise so I'm sharing it now as I don't expect to have the energy to comment this afternoon. One good thing about being diabetic... I get the early slot. I have to be at the hospital at 8:15. I'll be back on Saturday!
thank you for sharing this with us. it is beautiful. by the time you come and see these comments, hopefully, you'd have had a good rest. relax and enjoy the down time and don't force yourself to do anything strenuous.
Wow that doesn't! Sound any too pleasant. I would think they would keep you overnight and help you through the prep. I hope all goes well and you are soon back to normal.
Strange how we never think of the implications od diabetes on a procedure that most take in their stride.......blood testing must be so important. Hope all goes well today & you are raring to go again soon!
Gracious - that sounds dangerous to me - no food and being a diabetic! No wonder you were exhausted! However being in the hospital you will be mentored professionally and all will be well. Look forward to happier comments later but just as good sunrises!
Hope everything went well for you - my Dad was Type 1 diabetic for 60 odd years and I was always in awe how he knew how to manage his condition - sounds like you have the same level of control.
So sorry for you diabetics. And all the trouble you`ve been go trough. Hope they can cure it and you be better /healthy soon.
Great shot of this beautiful early morning
Such gorgeous colors here, a beautiful sunrise! By this time, your procedure should be done, and I hope you have been able to have a meal or two! I am also a type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump - I find even going for a fasting blood test a challenge, so I imagine yesterday was quite an ordeal! I am sure you are glad and relieved it is over! Hope you are doing fine!
Beautiful colours and layers here. Fingers crossed that all goes well for you, best to get checked out. Been there myself fairly recently and the prep was def the worst part even without diabetes, that's so much more to contend with.
So many people don't realize how serious type 1 diabetes is!!! My husband is type 2 and we have to watch what he eats all the time, test his blood 3 times a day, take his pills and his insulin and keep snacks around and his insulin!! Type 1 we know is even so much harder!!! I have a couple friends with type 1 and it kills me to see what they go through. I am saying prayers that everything turned out fine with your porcedure.
This might cheer you up some...had the tube up one way and down the other at the same time...not literally, within a few minutes of each other and I can tell you the "prep" was the worst thing of it all!! Since I was having both done, I was lucky to get my own room in recovery and didn't have to have what I call a booth...curtains all around, me. When I woke up, I heard a freight train going by...then realized it was me!!!! Lord I was glad I was in a room alone!!! Be well and get great results!! Mine were fine!!!
Your morning view is gloriously beautiful, Kim. I can only hope the rest of the day went okay and that today's sunrise is doubly beautiful with the procedure now completed. (Or should I say 'with the procedure behind you'. :)
Hope all went well and hope you are back on track with getting to eat food! That sounds like no fun at all! I think I have a wee bit longer before I have to go. Beautiful sight for your early morning wake up call! Fav!!!
It really is to as bad as everyone imagines, but add on the diabetic part and I do pity you for having to go through it. But very wise of you to ale sure it gets done.
Hope they didn't keep you waiting long today and it wasn't too stressful.
