I wandered about the house today looking for a photo subject and settled on my son's teddy. He's almost 13 years old and still sleeps with him nightly! I had a few different shots with Teddy (his official name) and called the kids in to pick their favourite of my three shortlisted choices. The first thing my daughter said was, "Mom, people don't take pictures of bears! That's just weird!" She thinks I'm nuts. She picked this has her favourite. My son picked a different one. He looks better large on black.
I love him - you set this up so well. My daughter (now 53) still has her big white teddy bear - don't know how many times I've sewn up an ear or the neck but it's been bunches! This will be a shot to keep.
Cute, brings back some wonderful memories surely but glad he still has a place in the boy´s life, lovely shot and I don´t think it´s weird to take pis of the Teddy bears, it´s rather cute :)
They are so special. We have puppy pup in our house and he went to the dentist yesterday with my daughter. I was so glad to see that she needed him to comfort her.
Teddys last forever. When my Mum died last year aged 87 she still had her 'Billy' from when she was a baby. He was in a bad way so he went with her to keep her company :-)
Tell your daughter that you know an older lady who goes to bed every night and talks out loud to her teddy before putting the light out, yes that's me and Ted has to sit up straight on the end of my bed to guard me through the night. Lovely capture of Teddy so FAV
So cute!!! My oldest has a dog that looks similar to this. It's almost 17 years old (actually the second dog. The first one got left at a hotel and we never were able to get it back)!! He slept with his until he started high school!!! Shhh... Don't tell that one!!! Lol
Love teddy bears! I have collected them for many years. My husband's first bear sits on his bedside cabinet, my brother's first sits in my lounge with one that my father gave my mother 59 years ago! Sadly many of the others are packed in boxes. I think I should donate them to a children's home or find an organisation that gives to those in need. On the last count we had around 800, including stone, wooden, ceramic etc bears. Used to have a lot of them displayed in printer's trays.
@kwind I have only ever photographed some of the ones that are not currently packed away. Sadly when they were all out on display I didn't have an interest in photography so I have no photos of all of them. Maybe during the winter, when my work is slow I should unpack and take photographs of them. It would have to be in batches though due to lack of space.
What do you call the color tone in this picture?
