Diary Shot

A crappy iPhone shot to document our afternoon. We painted 7.5 boxes of siding shingles today for the kids' new house. They were leftovers from our current home that we build 8.5 years ago. They were stained blue to at the time so we gave them one coat of white for now. Once installed, they will get a second coat!
Wow, that is quite a job. looking good.

Are these for walls or roof? What a lot of work - they would've appreciate your help!

I like the variegated look. You certainly attacked a tough job today.

@maggiemae They will go on the top peak of the siding (not on the roof). The bottom section will be vertical board and batten. This photo of our current house might help explain. http://365project.org/kwind/365/2013-05-29

@jamibann Our daughter helped tons. Our son was at school. He’s doing his 2nd year carpenter apprenticeship schooling session for the next 6 weeks.

@kjarn They are VERY lucky. I tell them regularly they won the parent lottery!! It’s an investment for all of us but they will get to live there (they will be paying) for a couple of years until we sell it and split the profits.

@lesip we started the house in January. Used the kids “school” money since neither is going to university. It’s a family investment project.
