We didn't make it to the beach until 3:30. We stayed until almost 6:00 when the sun was setting and giving off a golden glow. The kids enjoyed shaved ice (see photo in main album- http://365project.org/kwind/365/2012-12-30) and playing on their floating rings.
@andysg I left my d800 at home. It's heavier and requires my expensive lens that need to be switched out all the time. I'm missing it but like the simplicity of my 18-200mm multi purpose lens.
