The past few days have been crazy with snow. I woke up this morning with 8 inches of the white stuff needing to be moved off my very long driveway. I was outside with the snowblower by 8:30 (my husband is away working). It was supposed to turn to rain but it didn't. Instead we got an additional 7 inches during the day. I cleared the driveway two other times plus braved the snow covered roads and dealt with my parents much shorter driveway (they are in Mexico). Our total snow count is around 27inches over the past five days. I live on Vancouver island, BC, Canada. We rarely get snow so this system is a major thing! Here's a photo of my house this morning. I thought you might get a kick out of seeing it.
Wow! You guys have a lot! 27 inches is crazy! Our snow only lasted about 24 hours and is completely gone now. Warm weather blowing your way soon! I like how the house is framed by the trees.
@shutterbugger I thought my hubby was nuts when he bought it 3 winters ago. We had just moved here and we got a foot of snow. I figured he wouldn't use it again and we didn't until this year. I won't question his purchases again... It saved my back this week.
put some nice red ribbons somewhere or a sprig of holly and a robin and you have the ideal holiday card! this is so beautiful. excellent composition. aces!
Yea for snow blowers (and a hubby who thinks ahead!) That would have taken a lot of the fun out of this snow - the scene looks beautiful the way you've composed it. Trust it doesn't last long for you though.
Wow .. beautiful .. but hard for us to comprehend over here on a nice sunny evening... but before too long the tables will be turned ... though we just get mud not snow..
Oh Kim...my feet are hot and swollen from the heatwave we are having here in Australia and this photo makes me what to sink my feet my right in. I love how trees frame the house.
That is an incredible amount of snow for your area. Impressed with the snow-blowing activities. This scene is perfectly composed, framed, and balanced.
Cool today here in Melbourne -- only 28C ... or about 35-40 more than you, I am guessing :)
So thank you for sharing, and I look forward to returning when it melts!
