We went for a walk today. Part of the trail was beside a barbed wire fence. I spotted this berry clinging to the wire and thought it looked pretty in the light.
Isn't that anohter berry on a barb in the back? Why are they are on the barbs? Wow! That is cool...like a bird stuck them there for safe keeping! Very pretty pov and focus!
@espyetta Yes, two berries. I'm not really sure why they are there as there's an open field on that field. Horses wander the area (there was hair caught in the barbs) so maybe they grabbed a branch and pulled it along and a berry got stuck... it's a mystery!!
Hi there! At school one of my students was reading my book about strange and cool animals. She was reading about a bird called a Shrike that impala it's prey on thorns. The pic was of an impaled mouse. The text said the males will also stick edible and nonedible items on the thorns to look "rich" to a female bit and help him win a mate. I wonder if that is not what is going on here. Just with metal "thorns" :0) I told her about your picture.
